June Kelly Roy

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, June brings a wealth of talent and experience to any stage.  From a very early age, June honed her skills as a vocalist and entertainer performing in a variety of settings, from church choirs to big-bands, and numerous groups in between.

Early in her career, as a member of the Sweethearts of Song, June traveled the Gospel Jubilee circuit with Jake Hess and the Imperials, The Oak Ridge Boys and The Blackwood Brothers.  It was this early experience that taught June the value of entertaining an audience.  Following her days with the Gospel Jubilee, June quickly became one of the most popular vocalists in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area.  Performing on the Holiday Inn circuit with keyboard legends Milt Buckner and Woody Bates; and with nationally acclaimed drummer, and husband, John Roy, June added accomplished lounge-singer to her already impressive resume.

In her storied career, June has performed with everything from big-bands to duos, and has been a featured-vocalist at the annual Crusade for Children; with the Keith Stoncipher Orchestra and Ovation Orchestra; and is currently performing with the popular guitar-vocal duo Take Two.  Singing with the Ladies for Liberty will give me an opportunity to sing the WWII 1940s music which I love and also to honor our Veterans and active duty service men and women.
