Lisanne Lyons

Lisanne’s career began immediately following high school as the featured vocalist for the Air Force Bands. During her years in the service she performed and traveled worldwide. Shortly after her service, she received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music but transferred to the University of Miami’s School of Music on a full scholarship. As a student, she had the opportunity to perform with various South Florida big bands and combos, including The Woody Herman Band and Maynard Ferguson Big Bop Nouveau. She was chosen to join Cy Coleman and his national touring company with his Tony award winning “City of Angels” and was a featured performer on the NBC televised Orange Bowl half-time show, “You’ll Get a Kick Out of Cole”.

She was Assistant Professor of Music at Virginia Tech and enjoyed traveling the world with the “Uptown Vocal Jazz Quarter” performing with Tony Bennett, Nancy Wilson and Terrance Blanchard. She has recorded 2 CDs, “Right as Rain” and “Smile” with the John Tomey Trio. She then accepted an assistantship at The Miami’s Frost School of Music to work on her Doctorate in Jazz Performance.

Lisanne currently resides in Pembroke Pines, Florida where she teaches Voice at Miami’s Frost School of Music.
